Près de cinquante ans plus tard, Bob Connolly et Robin Anderson, deux documentaristes, rencontrent le fils du pionnier Michael Leahy, qui leur remet les bobines des films documentant cette première rencontre. Les deux cinéastes, soumettent à leur tour aux Papous ayant eux-mêmes vécut l’arrivée de « l’homme blanc », les images de ce premier face à face asymétrique posant déjà les bases de la colonisation à venir…
