What it’s about. Cette série met en vedette un homme au tracé simple vivant sur une ligne horizontale qui n’a de limite que par la volonté du crayon de son dessinateur. Celui-ci, dont on ne voit ponctuellement de lui qu’une main et son crayon, crée l’univers dans lequel vit ce sympathique personnage primaire au langage propre, sans nom officiel mais parfois appelé Balou ou Monsieur Linea selon les pays. Sa voix est celle de Carlo Bonomi. Quand il se retrouve devant un problème, Balou fait appel à l'artiste qui dessine, au fur et à mesure, des éléments de décor. À chaque fin d'émission, Cavandoli laisse généralement son personnage tomber dans le vide.
