Au centre de la place centrale il descend pour retrouver son amie Mercedes dont le travail est de garder les toilettes des femmes. De l'autre coté ce sont les hommes. Il y a des bagarres. Mercedes raconte à Jean. Quand il rentre le soir chez lui, c'est la dispute traditionnelle avec son père ivre qui ne supporte pas le désoeuvrement de son fils.
