Released in 1937, Karakoram is a documentaire and aventure film directed by Marcel Ichac, running about 38 minutes.

What it’s about. Récit de la première expédition française dans l'Himalaya, qui a tenté de gravir le pic caché (Gasherbrum I) en 1936, des préparatifs du voyage jusqu'au terme de l'ascension. Après une longue marche d'approche à travers des régions quasi désertiques, puis sur un immense glacier, la caravane de 700 porteurs arrive au pied du Hidden Peak. L'expédition était dirigée par Henry de Ségogne, avec Jean Charignon, Pierre Allain, Raymond Leininger, Jean Carle, Jean Deudon, Louis Neltner, Jacques Azémar, le docteur Jeand Arlaud et le réalisateur Marcel Ichac. Les conditions météorologiques, des problèmes logistiques et une grève parmi les sherpas ont forcé l'équipe à abandonner à 6900m sur la face sud. Le film a reçu le Lion d'argent au Festival du film de Venise en 1938.
