Chargé par le notable de la restauration de tableaux exposés dans la cathédrale, l’artiste fait appel à Cathy, une jeune fille de la chorale, pour lui servir de modèle. La jeune fille sera retrouvée morte quelques heures après leur entrevue, près d'une des propriétés de Robert.
