Alors qu'ils s'emploient à retrouver les autres occupants du même compartiment pour les auditionner, ceux-là sont assassinés tour à tour. Le commissaire Tarquin somme les inspecteurs de mettre fin rapidement à cette vague de crimes. Détail étrange : le tueur est plus rapide que la police pour retrouver ses potentielles victimes, les cinq occupants survivants du compartiment. Qui est l'assassin ?
