What it’s about. Les Buckaroos, musiciens de l'ouest, sont forcés d’atterrir à Little Pip, au Texas, alors qu'ils se rendaient à Hollywood pour y être la vedette de leur premier film. Ils trouvent une ville désertée par un boom minier qui a jeté à la chasse à l'or toute la population citadine et rurale. Seul, au ranch Bar-B, le contremaitre, Cactus, est resté à son poste. Malgré son caractère bourru, in accepte de les héberger à condition qu'ils travaillent au ranch. Pour avoir un endroit pour dormir, les Buckaroos font semblant d'être d'accord, comptant bien prendre la fuite dès le lendemain matin.
