What it’s about. Alexandre Gordy, célèbre dramaturge, confi e le premier rôle de sa prochaine pièce à Catherine Miller, chanteuse de Music Hall. Déterminé à la séduire, il l’invite dans sa villa de la Côte d’Azur pour préparer la pièce. Elle y rencontre Jacques Merval, l’assistant d’Alexandre, qui est en fait le « nègre » de l’auteur à succès. Quand ce dernier tombe éperdument amoureux de Catherine, un combat s’engage entre les deux hommes pour conquérir le coeur de la jeune femme.
