What it’s about. Seconde guerre mondiale. Survivants du crash de leur bombardier en zone allemande, trois soldats russes doivent impérativement retrouver leur base pour rester en vie. Grivtsov et sa radio-opératrice Katya s'enfuient en direction du front russe alors que Linko, le navigateur, décide de se rallier au camp nazi pour sauver sa peau. De retour au pays, Grivtsov s'attend à recevoir les honneurs pour son action. Malheureusement, le colonel des Smersh, la milice des déserteurs, va l'accuser d'une opération de sabotage contre l'armée russe.
