Le film bifurque ensuite sur le territoire « Karate Kid » où le novice se humilie à chaque tour, est toléré comme un étranger, et vient toujours un champion. Le monastère enseigne la non-violence, mais tout le monde sait que tôt ou tard l'étudiant va rattraper son retard avec le méchant.
