What it’s about. Après plusieurs années d'errance, So le mendiant (Simon Yuen) revient chez lui et retrouve sa femme longtemps délaissé (Linda Lin Jing) . Cette dernière a adopté un garçon, Foggy (Sunny Yuen Shun Yee ), durant son absence, mais celui-ci n'est pas au goût du maître de maison qui lui inflige alors mille tortures. Foggy décide de s'enfuir et rencontre un maître (Hwang Jang Lee) spécialiste du poing de la « mante religieuse ivre » et son disciple (Corey Yuen Kwai) qui sont à la recherche du mendiant afin de l'éliminer. Le jeune homme va avertir So, mais c'est trop tard. Quelques temps plus tard Foggy croise un curieux excentrique maitre de la technique du « poing malade » (Yen Shi Kwan), qui lui enseignera son art et que Foggy utilisera a son tour pour défendre So contre les tueurs a ces trousses.
