Trois enfants de la communauté Daizu se voient raconter par leur grand-mère qu'un éléphant rouge, symbole de Dieu, vit dans la forêt. Pendant les vacances d'été, ils se rendent donc dans la forêt à la recherche de celui-ci et découvrent finalement son secret.
