‘Minx’ Star Jake Johnson on Why Doug Backs Joyce’s ’70s Erotic Mag: ‘She’s Potentially a Lotto Ticket’

HBO Max’s “Minx” dives into the fictional world of a 20-something feminist woman in the late 1970s who teams up with a low-rent magazine publisher to launch an erotic women’s mag that features a nude male centerfold. And once you get past the nudity, the show is essentially a “workplace comedy,” Jake Johnson, who plays Bottom Dollar Productions boss Doug, told TheWrap.“And it’s a show about these people trying to launch a business,” the “New Girl” alum explained. “And the response I’m getting is that people are starting to really find the characters and find different people they like and different arcs they care about watching.
