Jaime Royal "Robbie" Robertson was a Canadian musician, songwriter, film composer, producer, actor, and author. Robertson is best known for his work as lead guitarist and primary songwriter for The Band, and for his career as a solo recording artist. Raised in Toronto and the Six Nations Reservation, Robbie Robertson began his musical journey at six. From The Hawks to co-founding The Band and Scorsese's "The Last Waltz," his career burgeoned. He scored films like "Carney," starred in it, and composed for "Raging Bull" and "Gangs of New York." His solo albums and documentaries like "Making A Noise" celebrate Native American music. Recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997.
