A Christian allegory in which an experienced demon and his apprentice sow despair, alienation, fear and hopelessness among the customers at a bleak Los Angeles gas station. They are powerless to influence the man who, despite the risk of great personal cost, helps a drive-by shooting victim. The experienced demon admonishes his charge, "Never, ever let them love one another."
