After being fired from the clinic where she works, her house is hit by a flood that ends up killing her husband, Carlos. Now homeless and struggling to support her family, Adriana starts working for the Brandãos, a traditional wealthy family from São Paulo, as the caregiver for Artur, the grumpy patriarch. The millionaire jeweler, known for driving away every employee, gradually forms a genuine bond with Adriana, who must also deal with the distrust of the rest of the family.
