Released in 1989, Warlock is an action, comedy, fantasy and adventure film directed by Steve Miner, running about 103 minutes. “Satan also has one son.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. In 17th century New England, witch hunter Giles Redferne captures an evil warlock, but the conjurer eludes death with supernatural help. Flung into the future, the warlock winds up in the 1980s and plans to bring about the end of the world. Redferne follows the enchanter into the modern era and continues his mission, but runs into trouble in such unfamiliar surroundings. With the help of a young woman, can Redferne finally defeat the warlock?

Who’s in it. Warlock stars Julian Sands as Warlock, Lori Singer as Kassandra, Richard E. Grant as Giles Redferne and Mary Woronov as Channeler, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 6.3/10, Warlock has drawn a solid, mixed-to-positive response. It went on to earn $9.1M at the box office.
