Released in 2005, Dot.Kill is a thriller and krimi film directed by John Irvin, running about 87 minutes. “Sie wollen unbedingt zusehen.” — that tagline sets the tone.

What it’s about. Nach dem 11.09.2001 sind Globalisierungsgegner als potentielle Terroristen doch ein wenig in Vergessenheit geraten. Auch wenn noch immer jeder G-8-Gipfel eines gigantischen Polizeiaufgebots bedarf, sind Öko- und Wirtschaftsterroristen aus Kino und Genrefilm nahezu komplett verschwunden. Man könnte es also fast schon als erfrischend bezeichnen, dass sich Regisseur John Irvin für seinen Thriller „Dot.Kill“ ausgerechnet einen Killer auserwählt hat, der den hochansteckenden und großen Schaden anrichtenden Börsenvirus durch das Töten von Konzernbossen auszurotten versucht. Leider ist Irvins Blick auf dieses Sujet nicht einmal halb so progressiv wie die Auswahl des Themas selbst.

Who’s in it. Dot.Kill stars Armand Assante as Det. Charlie Daines, Sonny Marinelli as Det. Mickey Harwell, Raffaello Degruttola as Adam Sotrel and Stanley Townsend as Capt. Tommy Byrnes, among others.

How it landed. With an audience score of 4.1/10, Dot.Kill has proved divisive with audiences.
